Like I don’t have anything else to do? Well I have to get a new home for our spice photos. Remember my selected spice photos I showed you in the class? Well I put it in this new flickr depository called ethnospices.

In Kelantan, this ubi is known as ubi keling, and favorite among old timers. In our flickr photodepositories, someone call it Stemona curtissii, which was obviously wrong. The real name for ubi kemili is S. tuberosa. The real S. curtisii is known as kemili hutan or galak tua. This is how the leaves of Stemona curtissii look like.

I check our flickr depositories today and read some excellent comments by students. I must congratulate those who work hard to put in comments with lot of interesting information.  But some students have very few comments and very little extra info. I am afraid they will not a good grade.

I will continue to open comment sections until tomorrow. Then it will be locked and the grading will continue. For those with photos in their site, please make sure you have at least the botanical name and local names for it to be usefull

In the first day we spent all morning doing market survey in Pasar Siti Khatijah

From Kota Bharu we went to Gua Musang, to interview our bidan respondent.

The next day we return to Gua Musang to spend the afternoon in Taman Etnobotani

The next day we went to see Rafflesia in Pos Brooke, Lojing and the report was lready been made available in Rafflesia-in-Bloom.

On 25th, we headed home via Cameron Highland, with brief stop-over to see Agro-tourism potential og CH.

Now that we have systems all set, students should start update the botanical and vernacular names. All pictures are of my set and those of Faizi and Donna. If you have other species, please upload. Do not load pictures of the same species, we will have problem with space

I found out that the Flickr free account limits to 200 photos only. To get around this problem, I created 3 more accounts and now all photos should be organised in these 4 accounts.
